The Pillars of Feeling More Amazing Every Single Year

Aging doesn’t have to mean slowing down, feeling tired, or losing your vitality. In fact, with the right tools and practices, it can mean stepping into your power and radiance like never before. Here are the four key pillars I’ve embraced to feel better at 41 than I ever have before.

Whole Food Diet: Nourishing Your Body for Radiance

Your diet is the foundation of your vitality, and nothing beats a whole food diet for supporting your body as you age. For me, this means:

  • Choosing organic fruits and vegetables to avoid harmful pesticides.
  • Prioritizing grass-fed, pastured meats and dairy for better nutrient density.
  • Soaking grains and legumes to make them easier to digest.
  • Avoiding inflammatory foods like processed sugar, refined oils, and gluten.
  • Taking supplements like organ meats, fish oil, and a multi-vitamin.

One of the game-changers in my journey was discovering the book Nourishing Traditions. It shifted my approach to food entirely, showing me how to honor the wisdom of traditional diets while supporting my body’s unique needs. Eating this way isn’t about perfection - it’s about giving your body the nutrient-rich building blocks it needs to thrive. And yes, I still enjoy a piece of birthday cake when I want to! Balance is key.

Physical Wellness: Honoring Your Body’s Movement and Rest

Feeling vibrant requires more than just eating well, it’s about how you move and rest, too. While I’ve never been a “gym person,” I’ve found ways to stay active and build strength that fit my lifestyle.

  • Active living: Whether it’s a yoga flow, a brisk walk, or a quick “run-walk” in the park, staying active keeps my energy flowing.
  • Strength-building: Strength is essential for women as we age, and I incorporate bodyweight exercises into my daily routine.
  • Prioritizing sleep: Sleep is the ultimate beauty secret. Rest supports your body’s natural healing and keeps your mind sharp.

Pleasure: The Life-Giving Energy You Can’t Ignore

Pleasure isn’t just a bonus, it’s a necessity. As women, we’re conditioned to prioritize productivity and take care of everyone else first, but reconnecting with pleasure has been a game-changer for my energy and confidence. Pleasure can be as simple as savoring your morning tea, dancing to your favorite song, or enjoying a long hug. It’s also about embracing your sexual energy, which is a vital life force. Did you know that orgasms can even help your body produce collagen?

Inner Work: Healing from the Inside Out

You can eat well, exercise, and prioritize pleasure, but without inner work, you may still feel stuck in patterns that don’t serve you. For me, the key has been deep somatic healing - working with the emotions, traumas, and unmet needs stored in my body.

Inner work includes:

  • Healing old wounds and releasing limiting beliefs.
  • Integrating past traumas so they no longer dictate your behavior.
  • Embracing all parts of yourself, including the ones you’ve rejected or hidden.
